Regarding the Tragedy at Virginia Tech

Posted by Jennifer in April 16, 2007

Today, April 16th 2007, tragedy has once again hit our generation. During the tragedy, which is being called “The Virginia Tech Massacre,” 33 people, including students and professors, lost their lives. Please keep the families of the victims and people affiliated with the college in your thoughts and prayers.

“Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bare. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bare a hardship today”. -Thich Nhat Hanh

The young generations of Americans are beginning to question when the pain will end. In the 19 years of life, we have experienced much pain and tragedy, including the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Columbine Shootings, Katrina and now the Virginia Tech Massacre. In times like these, it is hard to hold on to hope. As Thich Nhat Hanh, a Buddhist monk, points out, hope is important in overcoming hardships. With hope, all affected will overcome this tragedy.

Remember tomorrow will be beautiful.

We love you Virginia Tech.
